The stitched design is 86 stitches wide and 239 stitches long. I used 32 count linen any type even weave fabric would work. The chart has silk flosses with substitutes for DMC listed. The wrought iron is blackwork and many of the cross stitched motifs are really old as they can be seen in many of the Dutch samplers from the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.
